Excellence in the workplace was recognised and acknowledged at the Kāpiti Pride of Workmanship Awards ceremony at Southward Centre last night.
The Awards, sponsored by Kāpiti Hire , KCDC, Kāpiti News, and The Radio Network Kāpiti, were presented before a packed house, by Mayor Jenny Rowan and guest speaker Steve Lange.

Star of the night was undoubtedly the guest speaker Steve Lange who made the Tony’s Tyre Service a national brand. Mr Lange enthralled his audience with an inspirational and educational speech punctuated with humour and personal anecdotes.
Mayor Rowan said the awards were a great success. “The Council is thrilled to support the Pride of Workmanship Awards. We have so many businesses thriving here and this is a superb opportunity to highlight the people who make it happen at the leading edge. As a community we can all be proud of the recipients of these awards,” she said.
The awards are hosted annually by the Kāpiti Rotary Club. Organiser Gary McElhinney said the awards grow in popularity each year and the club is already looking forward to the 2011 event.
