Campaign Statement from Chris Glover
I am a member of the Cycleway, Walkway, Bridleway Committee.
I have built numerous paths around the district, including six paths under state highway 1 since 1995 and a path under Coastlands in 1996 to link the railway station with Wharemauku Stream Cycleway, and campaigned for a path on the North side of Raumati Road between Rimu Road and Rata, in 1997.
I am a member of the Cycling Health NZ, and our goal is to repeal the pushbike helmet law. To find out more visit www.cyclinghealth.org.nz
Traffic Lights at the intersection on Kāpiti Road and Rimu Road will cause major congestion. The best solution is to modify the roundabout by adding a lane to Kāpiti Rd for traffic turning out of Rimu Rd heading towards Paraparaumu Beach.
Other key issues are: Water – The Ōtaki River is the future water supply for Kāpiti. No fluoride. No Water Meters. No Tip Fees.
Yes to Raumati Railway Station.
Mr Glover is also a Council candidate for the Raumati/Paekākāariki Ward.
