A 24 year old Kāpiti man has been hospitalised with serious stab wounds after a brawl at a Rosetta Road party on the weekend.
Kāpiti Police say the man was assaulted at the party with a crowbar and stabbed approximately 12 times in the back, stomach and chest with a small folding knife.
Senior Sergeant Chanel Chapman says a group of males had spent Saturday evening together drinking.
“Another male friend joined the group and then an altercation took place,” she says.
Snr Sgt Chapman says the victim was transported to Wellington Hospital in a serious condition however he has improved and is now stable.
A 24-year-old man has been charged with wounding with intent to cause Grievous Bodily Harm, she says.
A second 24-year-old man has been charged with Assault with a Weapon.
