Plimmerton Boating Club Celebrates 100 Years

Plimmerton Boating Club is inviting the community to celebrate its 100th birthday with a special centenary event on Sunday, April 6, from 2–5 pm. The event promises a fun-filled afternoon of history, storytelling, and community connection at the club’s waterfront location.

The open-day celebration will showcase the club’s rich maritime history, featuring historical displays, memorabilia, and stories uncovered from the archives. Organisers have spent months digging into the club’s past, unearthing fascinating tales of local boating legends, past regattas, and the club’s role in shaping the coastal community.

“This isn’t just a celebration for club members—it’s a whole community event,” says Becs, one of the volunteer organisers. “Plimmerton Boating Club has been a big part of the area for a century, and we want everyone to be part of this milestone.”

The event will include activities for all ages, with opportunities to explore the club, hear from long-time members, and enjoy the waterfront atmosphere. Families, history enthusiasts, and boating lovers are all encouraged to attend.

For those interested in the club’s legacy or simply looking for a great local event, the Plimmerton Boating Club’s 100th Birthday Celebration & Open Day is an unmissable occasion.
