Porirua is gearing up for a magical afternoon of Christmas festivities at the annual Kirihimete in the City event on Sunday, 15 December. From 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM, Te Rauparaha Park and Pātaka Art + Museum will be transformed into a festive hub for Whānau and friends to enjoy.

Attendees can look forward to a wide array of activities at both locations. In Te Rauparaha Park, the celebration begins at 3:30 PM with market stalls and food trucks, offering unique gifts and delicious treats. From 5 PM, Nick Tansley leads Christmas carols, bringing holiday tunes to life. Families can also visit Santa’s Grotto and enjoy face painting.
Meanwhile, Pātaka Art + Museum will host live music and face painting from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, along with craft activities, more market stalls, and food trucks in the Norrie Street carpark throughout the event.
