Police Seek Public Assistance Following Dangerous Driving Incident in Titahi Bay

Police appeal for info in Titahi Bay Incident.

Police in Titahi Bay are appealing to the public for information after a person was arrested for dangerous driving this afternoon.

At approximately 4 p.m., several reports were made to Police regarding a group of individuals riding dirt bikes recklessly in the area. Witnesses allege the group was driving on the wrong side of the road, speeding, and even riding on footpaths.

A police unit on Titahi Bay Road encountered the group when one of the riders attempted a wheelie near Te Pene Avenue, losing control and crashing. The rider sustained minor injuries and was immediately provided with first aid at the scene.

The individual was subsequently arrested and is expected to appear in Porirua District Court. No further injuries were reported.

Police are continuing their investigation and are seeking to locate the other riders involved. They are also urging anyone with information or footage, such as CCTV or dashcam recordings, to come forward.
