Mana College is celebrating a double success after both its senior volleyball teams secured silver in their divisions at the 2025 New Zealand Secondary School Volleyball Championships, held last week in Palmerston North.

The five-day tournament, hosted across Central Energy Trust Arena and Massey University, brought together more than 190 teams – 100 boys’ and 98 girls’ – in what is the largest secondary school volleyball event in Aotearoa.

Competing among the country’s top school athletes, Mana College’s boys’ and girls’ teams delivered outstanding performances throughout the tournament to earn second place in their respective divisions – a major achievement for the Porirua school.

“Once again, a huge congratulations to our two volleyball teams that came away with silver in their divisions at Nationals last week,” said Principal Jeff Chapman.

Beyond the podium finishes, the championships were a celebration of poirewa, camaraderie, and school pride. “It’s epic to see how much fun poirewa is bringing to teams and the wider community,” said Ella Carlsen of NZ Secondary Schools Volleyball.
