About the Role:
- Lead the Council’s biodiversity strategy and service delivery.
- Provide technical expertise on urban ecology.
- Collaborate with internal teams, iwi, and community stakeholders.
- Develop and implement biodiversity programmes to engage the community.
- Advocate for best-practice ecological restoration across Porirua.
About You:
- Tertiary qualification in ecology, biodiversity, or equivalent experience.
- Leadership experience, with a track record of building high-performing teams.
- Strong knowledge of ecological restoration and biodiversity management.
- Ability to inspire and engage people in environmental initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills and confident public speaking ability.
- Understanding of relevant legislation (RMA, LGA, Reserves Act).
