At Wired Pup Coffee, owner Amy Barrett takes coffee seriously—without taking the fun out of it. She serves up Good Fortune Coffee’s Firecracker blend, a bold mix of beans from Peru, Colombia, Ethiopia, and Guatemala, roasted locally in Petone. “It’s been described as ‘an exploding peanut slab’ with a creamy body and raw cocoa aftertaste—delicious both black and with milk,” says Amy.
A Dream Turned Reality
Amy launched Wired Pup Coffee in 2020 at just 23 years old, setting up shop inside her partner’s design store. Now, five years later, she’s running her own hole-in-the-wall café in Tawa, welcoming both kids and dogs. “It’s taken a lot of hard work and pushing through tough times, but I wouldn’t have it any other way, says Amy.”
