Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Courtenay Place on Monday night.
A 66-year-old woman remains in critical condition in hospital after being struck by a car at approximately 8:25 p.m Monday Evening. The driver, an 82-year-old man, is cooperating with police as the investigation continues. Initial reports suggest neither alcohol nor a medical event contributed to the crash.
Authorities have expressed gratitude to bystanders who rushed to assist the injured woman at the scene. “It’s heartening to know that so many people in our city stepped up to help a person in need,” police said.
Police are also working with the German Embassy regarding the incident.
