Hurricanes Defeat Blues in Final Pre-Season Match

The Hurricanes wrapped up their Super Rugby Pacific pre-season campaign with a commanding 31-19 win over the Blues at William Jones Park in Wainuiomata on Friday afternoon.

The Blues opened the scoring early, but the Hurricanes responded with five unanswered tries, surging to a 31-7 lead before the visitors scored twice in the final minutes to narrow the margin.

Kini Naholo, Billy Proctor, Kade Banks, Fehi Fineanganofo, and Peter Lakai all crossed the line for the Hurricanes, with Harry Godfrey and Riley Hohepa adding conversions. Taufa Funaki, Cam Suafoa, and Patrick Tuipulotu scored for the Blues, with Beauden Barrett and Harry Plummer contributing conversions.

The Hurricanes now turn their focus to the Super Rugby Pacific season-opener against the Crusaders next Friday night, while the Blues will kick off their campaign at home against the Chiefs on Saturday.
