A man is in critical condition after a serious incident early this morning in the suburb of Elsdon, Porirua.
Emergency services were called to an address on Kotuku Street around 2 am, where the injured man was found. He was transported to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Middlemiss of Kāpiti Mana Police says, “Police are making enquiries after a serious incident overnight that has left a man critically injured. A number of people will be assisting with our enquiries today as we work to establish the circumstances of what has occurred.”
Detective Senior Sergeant Middlemiss adds that the public can be reassured this is believed to be an isolated incident involving individuals known to each other. “There is not believed to be any wider risk,” he says.
A scene guard has been placed at the property as investigations continue. Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
