New Art and Craft Market Adds Colour to Porirua’s Kai Tahi Food Court

Over 30 quality art & craft stalls at the market every Sunday from 10 am till 3pm.

Porirua locals and visitors alike now have a fresh reason to gather at the Kai Tahi international food court every Sunday with the launch of a vibrant indoor Art and Craft market. Featuring over 30 stalls from 10 am to 3 pm, this weekly event combines local art, crafts, and an eclectic range of food options, bringing a new community space for family-friendly shopping and dining.

Among the artists at the market is local watercolour artist from Watercolour Sisters, offering original artwork, prints, and unique gifts. “It’s exciting to be part of this creative space in Porirua,” says artist Nicola Kane. “We’ve needed something like this for years—it’s wonderful to see the community come together to support local artists and enjoy the delicious food options at Kai Tahi, says Kane.”

The Porirua Harbourside Art and Craft Market, held at Kai Tahi at 20 Paramoana Street (across from Pataka), is designed with accessibility in mind, inviting everyone, including families and dog owners, to enjoy the relaxed indoor environment. With both food and crafts under one roof, visitors can enjoy a wide selection of international cuisines while browsing handmade goods and original art, making for a unique Sunday experience in the heart of Porirua.

Market organisers hope the weekly event will not only boost foot traffic for Kai Tahi but also foster a stronger sense of community by showcasing local talent and supporting small businesses. The Porirua Harbourside Art and Craft Market welcomes all to join in each Sunday, with organisers emphasising their commitment to making the market a long-term staple in Porirua’s weekend scene.
