The search for missing Wellington man Niko Dominic will continue through this weekend, according to Detective Senior Sergeant Martin Todd, Area Investigations Manager. Mr. Dominic, a Pacific Islander in his 40s, has been missing since Wednesday, 29 May, and concerns are growing as time passes with no contact from him. Despite the ongoing uncertainty, police remain hopeful that he will be located.
Police are working closely with Mr. Dominic’s family, who are extremely worried for his wellbeing, and are providing them with support during this difficult time. Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any sightings of Mr. Dominic or information that can assist in the search, especially any CCTV or dashcam footage from the Eastbourne area on Wednesday, 29 May.
Niko Dominic was last seen at the end of Muritai Road, near Barden’s gate in Eastbourne, at about 5:30 pm on 29 May. He was wearing a grey top and dark pants, although this may have changed. He was also noted to be wearing a black Raider’s cap, a grey Nike hoodie with a logo on the upper left chest, black trackpants, and red, white, and grey Nike Air Max shoes.
Detective Senior Sergeant Todd has highlighted the importance of community involvement in such cases. “The public’s assistance can be crucial in locating missing persons. We urge anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward,” he said.
