The Kāpiti community has rallied, raising nearly $35,000 for the Mary Potter Hospice through the Kāpiti Sunsets Calendar initiative. Calendar Boys, Murray Short and Barney Shiels-Reddin, are excited to announce the upcoming fourth edition, with support from generous sponsors. The calendar project aims to feature photos from 12 local photographers, showcasing the area’s stunning vistas.

A Facebook competition is underway, offering photographers the chance to contribute their sunset shots for the 2024 calendar. To participate, join the Kāpiti Sunsets Calendar 2024 Facebook group, where competition rules and submission details can be found. Submissions must adhere to specific criteria, including a landscape format suitable for A4 printing, capturing the sunset over Kāpiti Island or the Kāpiti Coast.

Entries are accepted until August 31, 2023. Selected photographers will not only be part of the calendar but will also support the Mary Potter Hospice. Each chosen contributor receives a complimentary calendar, contributing to a local charity while immortalizing their work.

The Kāpiti Sunsets Calendar 2024 encapsulates more than just picturesque scenes; it symbolizes community strength and compassion. As the sun sets on another day, Kāpiti’s unity shines, showcasing both the region’s beauty and its commitment to making a positive impact. Join the competition, seize the opportunity, and be part of this heartwarming initiative.
