Café 6 in Raumati Beach was abuzz this morning as women from across the district gathered for a heartwarming Pink Ribbon Breakfast, aimed at raising funds for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
The event provided an opportunity for women to connect, enjoy each other’s company, and contribute to a cause that affects so many lives.
The highlight of the morning was the presence of a remarkable breast cancer survivor who bravely shared her personal journey. Her story served as a powerful reminder of the importance of early detection and regular self-checks, urging everyone to prioritise their health and well-being.
As the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, the women listened attentively to the survivor’s experiences and words of advice. She stressed the significance of self-examination and emphasised the importance of scheduling regular mammograms.
In addition to the emotional and educational aspects of the morning, the Pink Ribbon Breakfast also proved successful in raising funds for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. The event generated around $500, which will be directed towards crucial initiatives such as early detection education, providing support for those currently battling breast cancer, advancing research and medical grants, and advocating for improved services and resources.
