Express Lane – update from NZTA

Welcome to Express Lane, the best way to find out what’s happening on the Kāpiti Expressway.

This month we’re talking about peat. We’ve got lots and lots of it, and it’s fascinating stuff. We learn about how our Geotech, Design and Construction teams have to manage and work with it. And you’ll hear from Victoria University Research Fellow Bruce McFadgen that it’s of academic and historical significance as well.

To top all that off we invite you to join us on 18 October for a Public Peat Grab Day. We’ll be opening up two sites, one in the north and one in the south, to allow Kāpiti gardeners to come and grab some spare peat. Kāpiti Youth Quest are going to be onsite helping out as volunteers and a koha or gold coin donation for the peat will go towards supporting Youth Quest. Read on for more information.

Plus, we list the most recent vacancies and job opportunities. We always welcome your feedback on Express Lane, so if there’s anything else you’d like to hear about, or questions you’d like answered, please flick us a comment in the feedback section.
