As a long time resident of Waikanae, local business owner and rate payer I am passionate about Waikanae.
Waikanae is no longer a little village. In the next three years the expressway will change the shape and feel of our community. A new town centre, an upgraded library and gallery, the challenge of creating Waikanae as a place people will want to visit with a growing population are the realities we face.
Local democracy and representation through an active community Board
remains vital for Waikanae’s future. As Chair of the Community Board for the last six years I have worked with an active Board which has advocated tirelessly for its community. Consultation, independence and community involvement have been key ingredients of the Boards success. I am committed to strengthening this process in the next triennia to promote the interests of Waikanae residents.
