The taki Community Board is a vital advocate for Ōtaki with Council, organisations like NZTA and Regional Council.
I believe in community boards. They must be retained in any new regional local government structure to provide the grass roots contact so important to taki and Kāpiti people.
I believe I know the real issues facing our community. I have stood twice for the Ōtaki Community Board and in 2011/12 I was actively involved in the taki to Paraparaumu bus service being restored.
For 25 years my job in Wellington involved corporate decision making. I raised a family of four and was involved in sports and recreation with my family on the Kāpiti Coast.
I have a lifestyle block and run a small business. I understand the need for local work and employment opportunities.
We need a clear focus on taki and its people, now and in the future.
