Former Kāpiti Mayor Iride McCloy, is standing for Council in response to many calls for positive change.
“Being a local resident since childhood I’ve always felt passionate about Kāpiti. My frustration over Council’s lack of progress is the catalyst for standing as a district-wide councillor for you, the ratepayer and resident,” said Mrs McCloy.
“My success in local business with integrity, experience and accountability, is a huge asset to progress the infrastructure decision making for Kāpiti. Businesses in Kāpiti must have an advocate! As a committee member of the local Chamber of Commerce I am keen to bring more knowledge and leadership to Kāpiti’s economic development.”
Mrs McCloy says Community group involvement, assistance and support for youth and families, and empathy with our diverse and growing population are paramount for the future.
“Decisions must be made. My casting vote for the Library and many other proven successes show I am not afraid to take responsibility and make decisions – both imperative qualities for the success of our Council.”
Mrs McCloy is standing for a district-wide council seat.
