The annual Seniors Ball
The annual Seniors Ball will take place on Saturday 14th August at Southwards Theatre with the theme this year “Voyage to Midnight the final endeavour”.
The student planning group has been working very hard to ensure that we have another enjoyable formal social occasion.
Ball Gown Fashion and Variety Show Monday 16th August
It’s time for the annual Ball Gown Fashion and Variety Show again, where our senior students will parade their ball gowns and suits, all looking very glamorous and smart. There will also be performances by College students incorporated in the show, showing just some of the amazing talent amongst our students.
Hair and makeup will be done by students from Whitireia, as part of their studies, to help make our students look even more gorgeous!
There will be a finger supper at interval, included in the ticket price, so all in all will be a great evening.
Please come along to support this event.
The show will be held on Monday 16th August two days after the Ball. Tickets will be on sale at the door for $8.00.

If you have any questions then please contact Ms Janse, HOD Outdoor Education at the College.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Operation Christmas Child involves filling shoeboxes with gifts for children in less privileged countries and is in full swing again this year. For the last two years Paraparaumu College has contributed hundreds of boxes to this project, and it would be great to see even more contributed this year!
There are a variety of different types of items to include in the shoebox, including something to love, eg a teddy bear; something for school, eg an exercise book; something to play with, eg tennis balls; something for personal hygiene and something special, eg craft kits.
Completed shoeboxes can be delivered to the school library before the end of term and there will also be opportunities for students to make boxes at school.
For further information please contact Anna Rouse or Bailey Humphrey (Year 13).

Rugby Southern Skies Tournament Brisbane Steve Marshall Reports:
During the July holidays I had the privilege of taking 22 rugby players from our college to Brisbane to compete in the Southern Skies Tournament.
The boys played four games the first two days, had a rest day (at Dreamworld), then three more games over the last two days. On grounds that were like concrete, in temperatures that were more like our summer temperatures and against teams that play at the highest level in their regions, our team found it hard going but certainly didn’t disgrace themselves. Three boys in particular need to be acknowledged for making the All Stars Tournament team: Jack Staniland, Beau Wedlock and Pierre van Heerden.
The evening entertainment was well organised with cultural concerts, a dance party, shopping and sightseeing.
Throughout the entire week the boys were great ambassadors for our school (and in fact New Zealand) and should be proud of the way they conducted themselves. As mentioned above it really was a privilege to take the team to the tournament.
